Ramblings, Writings, and Books

What does this mean and why are you here? I suspect most aspiring authors, as well as most published authors, especially in this digital age, see a website not only as fundamental but a necessity in sharing the availability of said talent. As an aspiring author, this is my website. I also understand that I have more to share than just the books I may publish and I have the desire to establish a depository of things I have written that may or may not be used in any future writing endeavor.

Ramblings

Author is but one title I aspire to achieve. I am learning to be more comfortable with the title Writer as I share more of my writings and received feedback from my readers. Creator is a title I am already comfortable with. I like to make stuff and some people would say I’m pretty good at it. The stuff I make is usually associated with my booth at a local flea market, something I do not only for the enjoyment of doing it, but also for the little extra cash it helps put in my pocket. I will share some of these projects in my ramblings in the hope that you may become inspired to look at stuff a little differently and to imagine things used in a different way.

Writings

Writing is a creative outlet that is relatively new to me. Not that writing is new to me, but considering a creative outlet is new to me. I have many thoughts and stories in my head, I just haven’t been inclined to put them on paper. I have found, however, that as I put these stories on paper I glean lessons that may have been once learned and forgotten or may have escaped me completely in the past. These writings are ultimately for my benefit. They help me define who I am, where I’ve been, and where I’m going. They’re not solely mine, I openly share them with you, my reader, so partake if you want. I won’t ask you to enjoy them but please try them on for size and let me know what you think.

Books

Ultimately, I want to take my writing to the next level – author of a printed book. Antoine de Saint-Exupery once wrote “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Pretty smart for someone that lived to the ripe old age of 44 don’t you think? My goal is to be a published author. My plan is as follows:

  1. A children’s book published before the end of 2016
  2. A guide for personal growth before the end of 2017
  3. A fiction novel before the end of 2018

Can’t make up my mind of what type of author I want to be, you ask? I don’t, yet, want to decide what kind of author I want to be. I didn’t learn what foods I liked without eating different types of food. I will author at least 3 different types of books and see which one I like doing. Hopefully, you will like them, too.
